David’s tax background was with HMRC, initially in the London area, as a Senior Tax Investigator. In 1986, having become qualified with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, he formed Morgan Jones & Co Accountants to help small to medium sized businesses and individuals in the Shrewsbury and Shropshire area.

With vast experience in all aspects of tax, he has always aimed to provide a down-to-earth Accountancy and Tax Service, an ethos embraced by Simon Cook, who joined David in 1986.

Simon was David’s ‘right-hand man’ for many years, becoming a Partner in 2007, before taking on the lead role in 2018 as David stepped back to a part-time role, reducing his hours to two days a week. David continues to support the business and clients with his extensive knowledge in his new role as Senior Tax Consultant.
